Description
Murdick’s Famous Fudge of Charlevoix. This magnet measures 2 inches by 3.5 inches. The image is a reproduction of a painting “Murdick’s Fudge”. If you visit Northern Michigan you HAVE to have a piece of Fudge and Murdick’s Famous Fudge is some of the best. The family has locations around the northwest coast. Charlevoix’s family closed its doors and retired in 2014 and are probably going to sell the building (Update: building sold 2016). It holds many summer memories for thousands of people and will be missed sorely. It was the place I got my first taste of “Up North” fudge when we first visited Charlevoix, before moving here. Don’t worry, Cousin’s of theirs have Celeste Murdick’s Fudge just across the street and down the block. In addition to the Famous Fudge, popcorn and caramels they also have ice-cream.
I did this painting as a study for a scene on “Charle-fish” for the Great Northern Fish-In sponsored by the North West Michigan Red Cross as a fundraiser. It is acrylic on fiberglass.
Part of the Pure Charlevoix Collection.
