Description
The Historic Train Depot – Charlevoix. This magnet measures 2 inches by 3.5 inches. The image is a reproduction of a painting “The Historic Train Depot – Charlevoix”. The Charlevoix Train Depot overlooks Depot Beach and is maintained by the Charlevoix Historical Society. The Charlevoix Garden Club planted and cares for the Heritage garden that is on the grounds. In the 1800’s and early 1900’s people road the train up from downstate and Chicago for the summer. The whole family would arrive to escape the summer heat but the men would only stay for the weekend and hop back on the train for the work week. This painting is a study for a scene I did on “Charle-fish” for the Great Northern Fish-In sponsored by the North West Michigan Red Cross as a fundraiser. It is acrylic on fiberglass.
