Description
Earl Young’s “Hobbit House” Half House on Park Ave Charlevoix. This signed print measures 12 inches by 18 inches with the image area measuring 8 3/4 inches high by 17 inches wide. It is a reproduction of “Earl Young’s Half House on Park Avenue, Charlevoix”, a commissioned table for the East Park Tavern restaurant in Downtown Charlevoix overlooking East Park. I did a series of Charlevoix themed paintings for their Topside deck and a marketing plan “Where you can Dine on Fine Art and Enjoy the View”. I had wanted to do this for years, a Charlevoix themed restaurant featuring my paintings and had even approached a couple of them to do this but no one wanted to until The East Park Tavern.
A bit of Earl Young history: Earl built this unique little house for his daughter as a wedding present! It sat beside what was originally the house that he raised his family in. That house has been completely rebuilt and doesn’t resemble the original house. The little “half house” however remains true to it’s character and people come from all over the world to take pictures. It is referred to as the “Hobbit House” or “Half House” and is totally unique and a delight inside and out!
If you would like to see it up close the owners rent it out! OR if you are in Charlevoix and are looking for something fun to do, you HAVE to take a guided Mushroom House Tour of the exterior of all 28 of the Earl Young homes with local Edith Pair!
This is also available as Magnets and Note Cards.
