This is a painting of a monarch sitting on a butterfly bush in my garden in my backyard. My son took the reference picture for this. I have two beautiful bushes and once a year the butterflies grace us with their presence. I had missed it the year before and Connor was here at the time they arrived and knew I didn’t want to miss it so he captured a number of beautiful shots that he shared with me. This piece was included in the “Things with Wings” juried art exhibit at the Charlevoix Circle of Arts.
