This original painting was created special for a show at the Jordan River Arts Council (JRAC) called “Squared and Squared” again. You had to create two things that had to do with a square and present together. I chose my favorite subject “the pink tulip” and painted it on a “square” canvas and to make it “special”, to stand out in the show, make it into a larger “square” using “square components”. This tulip “puzzle”, when put together and hanging on the wall, creates a three dimensional piece that casts shadows adding to the overall depth of the piece. The paint forming the tulips, wraps down and around all sides of the canvases adding another way for this piece to be viewed. You can walk from one side of it to the other and the cast shadows change, giving it a life of its own. It is truely a unique and inspirational conversation piece. It was also shown in the Charlevoix Circle of Arts (CCA) juried show “In Blooming Color”.
