This painting was done earlier in the year plain air painting with my friends at the Iris Farm out on the Lealanau Peninsula. It was a beautiful sunny day in Northern Michigan that started out slightly foggy and cool but by mid morning when the sun hit the blooms the field was a riot of color! This farm has every color and variety of iris imaginable, even one that smells like root beer!
